Andrew Tinkham Clark, October 27, 1944 – September 4, 2022, born and raised in Jamestown, NY, was the son of Nancy and Laird Clark. He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother Laird Spaulding Clark, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Susannah Blackburn Clark and his four children, Philip Wimberly, Shane Clark, Shawn Clark and Whitney Clark Boyer, their spouses, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Andy’s wife of 27 years, Kathy Clark, was at his side when he died in Chandler, Arizona, where they had made their home for the past 15 years.
Andy attended Fessenden School and Tabor Academy in the Boston area, Manlius Military Academy in Manlius NY, and then Penn State University, where he majored in hotel and hospitality management. He served in the US Marine Corp.
His careers included professional golf, teaching in Nantucket and Castle Hot Springs, and stock brokerage before a long and successful career at WunderBar, Automatic Bar Control, traveling the world developing and nurturing client relationships.
Andy was a storyteller, the focal point of any gathering. He was handsome, smart and fun loving. He was a devoted son to his mother “Tink”, brother of his sister Susy, husband of his wife Kat and father of his sons, Philip and Shane, and daughters, Whitney and Shawn. Many would say Andy wore his heart on his sleeve, crying during a commercial or at the movies, laughing until tears rolled down his cheeks during a Peter Sellers movie or a Jonathan Winters skit. Many would say Andy would do anything for his friends and family.
Andy left an indelible mark on those he met along the way and will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
