La Vie Hotels and Resorts is consolidating six business units under a new umbrella brand, La Vie Hospitality Group, to serve as an end-to-end solution for the hospitality industry.
Described as a “one-stop-shop” for the industry, the group will provide existing customers, owners and other partners with education and recruitment, asset management, procurement, property management, service hospitality, in addition to its range of hotels and resorts.
The founder and CEO of La Vie Hospitality Group, Jerry Xu, said he was proud to finally be able to market this offer.
“It has always been my vision to build a holistic, full-service hospitality business that adds value to owners at every stage of the journey, and it is a proud moment for me to take this next step and launch La Vie Hospitality. Group,” he said.
“This is an exciting development for our business and we are proud to be one of the first Australian hotel groups to launch a fully integrated offering that provides a one stop shop for owners.”
Addressed exclusively to SMCraig Bond, chief executive of La Vie Hospitality Group, said it was about giving back to the industry.
“We believe this model can add greater value,” he said.
“We see there’s so much synergy as a hospitality business – there’s no one else like us. It’s like a la carte service – you can have a little of this, a little of that.
A skilled workforce
The group recently entered into a joint venture with Alliance College, a South Australian-born hotel training school, which operates a campus in Adelaide and Haymarket, Sydney, to bring educated graduates to hotels.
While many industry players are struggling to find qualified staff in the wake of the pandemic, Bond said SM that education is a top priority.
“Educating and integrating people into the hospitality industry is more vital than ever,” he said.
“It’s about giving back to the industry and providing quality training.
As part of their course, students will be offered internships at a wide variety of hotels across Australia.
“We hope that by nurturing tomorrow’s talent and creating a network of highly skilled hospitality professionals, we will help fill the void, not just in our hotels, but across the board,” Bond said.
Purchasing branch, Paro Procurement Group, works with owners to provide OS&E (operating supplies and equipment) and FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment).
Bond says the model is very different from what the industry has traditionally seen.
“These models used to be paid for, but that’s very different – we’re very transparent,” he said.
“We are bringing a new approach to sourcing in the hospitality industry in Australia that has never been seen.
“The old way of charging the owner a consultancy fee and then getting discounts from suppliers is a thing of the past.”
La Vie Hospitality Services offers end-to-end catering management for large institutions, covering everything from menu design to service delivery and innovative food and beverage supplies.
“It’s a relatively new business for us, but it’s a growing business because what we bring to the table in this world of business is refreshing compared to what’s been there before,” Bond said.
The hospitality business also provides staffing solutions for luxury yachts in Sydney Harbour.
“We have a very talented pool of service staff who work with a number of luxury yacht operators in Sydney to deliver a very high level catering experience,” he added.
Building and asset management
Marion Building Management brings luxury hotel services such as concierge and building maintenance to residential properties.
Bond says the model is hugely popular in apartments across Asia and increasingly in Australia.
“We are now seeing in Australia that it is becoming very popular,” he said.
“It’s an advantage for the developer when he sells, but also [a great benefit] to the inhabitants. »
Meanwhile, La Vie Hospitality Group’s asset management company, Leadwell, is working with hotel owners and operators on major pre-opening projects, including the W Sydney.
Bond says it’s about bringing sensitivity to asset management.
“We have a 360 degree approach,” he said.
“Financial results aren’t just about money, they’re about customer satisfaction, staff satisfaction – all of these have an impact on profitability.
“Leadwell takes a different approach to traditional asset management, which is about variables in financial matters – we look at the backbone of the business.”
Luxury hotel partnership
On Tuesday, La Vie Hotels and Resorts also announced a strategic brand and distribution partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
The deal, signed in Singapore this week by La Vie CEO Jerry Xu and SLH Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific Mark Wong, will see a number of La Vie’s upscale and independent hotels join the exclusive collection including The Islington Hobart.
An as-yet-unannounced hotel in Surry Hills will also join the network later this year.
“We are excited to align with smaller luxury hotels and believe the value they will add to our boutique properties will be immeasurable,” Xu said.
“Islington Hobart lends itself perfectly to SLH’s clientele, and we look forward to adding a few more properties to SLH’s portfolio over the coming months.”
La Vie expects to benefit from SLH’s global distribution network for high-end luxury vacation seekers as well as its sales and marketing support.
