IHG Hotels and Resorts will open its second Holiday Inn branded hotel in Perth after signing a new management agreement for a 101-room property located just outside the city’s CBD.
The Holiday Inn West Perth will cross the city’s popular Hay and Collins streets and see the brand take over the old Sage Hotel West Perth, with the name change due to take effect on November 1, 2021. The new hotel will strengthen IHG’s portfolio in the capital of Western Australia. , joining InterContinental Perth, Crowne Plaza Perth and Holiday Inn Perth City Center.
A gentle renovation will be done on the hotel before it reopens as a Holiday Inn next month. The hotel will become number 42sd Holiday Inn hotel open or planned in the Australasia and Pacific region.
The hotel is within walking distance of King’s Park and the Botanic Gardens – two of Perth’s most popular attractions – and close to dining, entertainment and the Swan River.
The history of the property is characterized by the historic Walsh Family Residence from 1902 which is located opposite the hotel. An on-site destination restaurant that doubles as a conference and event space will also include facilities for guests.
Jael Fischer, IHG’s development director for Australasia and the Pacific, said she looks forward to the new hotel welcoming its guests from November 1.
