It’s great to design a beautiful interior space that intelligently injects a biophilic design, but in order to create a truly cohesive language between the interior and the exterior, designers should consider a dimensional approach to look and feel. of space considering lighting as well as ringing. For the Grantley Hall Hotel & Spa, in order to do justice to this trend, with a meaningful approach, the property brought in a supplier who can seamlessly improve the entire consumer journey. In doing so, the Grade II listed building has proven that heritage buildings and technology can indeed work in harmony.

Situated on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales near Ripon, on 30 acres of beautiful woods, parks and grounds, and featuring its own English Heritage Japanese Garden, the hotel is on its way to becoming one of the premier hotels in UK luxury and spa retreats. , immersing guests in complete luxury and relaxation. Many Georgian features of the stately home have been preserved, but the 47 beautiful bedrooms, spa, gymnasium, event spaces and nightclub also benefit from state-of-the-art technology. Custom local integrator Clever Association worked with Grantley Hall to complete the design and installation of perfectly integrated lighting and audio control automation in bedrooms and common areas inside and out. .

All rooms are equipped with a high quality audio system, allowing guests to access their own music or stream from the hotel’s music library. Lutron deluxe lighting control, also featured in guest rooms, gives guests the flexibility to tailor lighting to their own needs and mood. In addition, Lutron Homeworks lighting is installed in all common areas, ensuring the ideal level of lighting at all times. Anthony Gallon of the Clever Association picks up the story: “We reached out to Grantley Hall after hearing about his plans through the company. They were keen to use local businesses which helped our pitch. Grantley Hall is one of the largest facilities we have managed to date, but as with every project the main focus was on delivering top quality work within budget. Part of our bidding was to make sure the client had all the demos they needed to instill confidence in the quality and performance of our work, in keeping with the hotel’s luxury philosophy.

When it came to designing the luxury outdoor space, the team needed a reliable brand whose products were at the cutting edge of technology. “We approached Habitech for the exterior audio elements needed to cover large areas along the west terrace, including The Orchard, where a large canvas marquee covers a drinking and dining area,” the studio explained. .

Grantley Hall, Sonance speakerLikewise, a contemporary extension, comprising the luxury ‘ELITE’ gym and wellness center and the ‘Three Graces Spa’ complex, required superior and consistent outdoor audio coverage. The design demanded long cables, super low-profile aesthetics, full sound quality, the ability to achieve high SPLs without distortion (although systems are rarely driven hard), and excellent intelligibility at background levels. In other words, we had to deliver the definition audio quality that uninitiated hotel guests would notice. The Habitech team recommended the flagship Sonance Landscape series speakers and Sonance amplification for work, providing a custom design and an SPL card for each zone. In each case, we used a mix of LS6TSAT, smaller LS4TSAT and LS12 underground submarines, either discreetly buried at the periphery or hidden in strategically placed planters. Landscape Series satellites and submarines also surround the spa pool.

“Overall, we are very proud of what we have accomplished at Grantley Hall. This was a large project, which required precise integration, effortless ease of use for staff and guests, and absolute reliability. The systems, including the exterior audio components, help keep our promise to Grantley Hall by working quietly and beautifully, and the hotel is happy with what we do. And we are grateful to the Habitech team for backing up the design and performance of their products, which have always been excellent throughout our long partnership.
