“There are no rooms available for these dates. We recommend changing the dates or selecting a different rate type when available,” the website said when attempting to book.

However, booking is authorized from July 1 on the website.

A senior hotel official said the hotel was “booked at full capacity”.

A Guwahati Police official also confirmed that he said no new guests were allowed into the compound.

“Only airline staff members are allowed in and out as they have an agreement with the hotel,” the official said.

Police officers, under the supervision of senior officers, checked every guest entering the Radisson Blu. They made general visitors in most cases.

Apart from personnel from the nearby Jalukbari police station, paramilitary forces and dozens of jawans from the reserve battalions and commando units of the Assam police were strictly guarding the hotel, which is about 15 km from the hotel.
