Among his multiple technological projects is the vision of a room with an environment completely personalized by the will of the client, including television content that he can enjoy throughout his stay. For this reason, the company has long relied on interactive solutions from ZAFIRO by ES that allow the customer to decide what to see and when to do it.

More than 3,500 rooms and 20 establishments already have the ZAFIRO Cast cloud, the solution that allows customers to enjoy their own content while traveling. The rise of streaming content has favored the adaptation to the hotel environment of those solutions that they considered only to enjoy at home, such as those based on Google Chromecast technology. Security and confidentiality also accompany the customer during his stay thanks to the security protocols of Amazon Web Services and the automatic deletion of his data once he has checked out.

Aware of the importance of offering its customers the technological comfort they already enjoy in their daily activities, Meliá Hotels International has opted for the implementation of ZAFIRO Cast Cloud in its various brands and locations. Indeed, since 2018, all technological projects carried out in collaboration with ZAFIRO have had the cast solution.

ZAFIRO Cast, which adapts to the peculiarities of the hotel environment, allows customers to simply and safely enjoy their own content on the in-room TV. But, in addition, ZAFIRO Cast allows the hotel group to offer the service through a personalized interface adapted to the look & feel of its different brands. Thanks to the new architecture of the solution, all the management of the company is centralized in one place in a natural and user-friendly way. The interaction breaks down the physical barriers allowing the chain to provide care and services to its users anywhere, before, during and after the stay.

The solution has received a very positive reception from customers, being used in some hotels 100% of the days and reaching more than 20 hours of daily casting. On the other hand, confirming the trend, the most used applications in all hotels were Netflix and YouTube.

At Meliá Hotels International, television has gone from being an “extra element” in the room to another key experience resource. With an emphasis on full personalization of the experience, the company not only opted for ZAFIRO Cast but also for the implementation of ZAFIRO TV, an interactive platform for accessing entertainment, information and personalized services.

This solution allows the customer to comfortably interact with the various services of the hotel, providing a contactless experience that also contributes to achieving the group’s paperless objective and, therefore, goes further in terms of sustainability.
