Renamed “Key Awards”, each awards event was designed to celebrate excellence and innovation.
The first in this new series of awards, “Key Awards for Rising Stars”, was launched this month by Stephen Meldrum and Londonderry-based Lauren Burton.
Stephen Meldrum, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Hotel Federation, said: “The Federation fully recognizes the vital role people play in the success of our hospitality industry. Within the industry, there are companies and individuals who are constantly striving to exceed expectations and are advancing at a blistering pace. We want to recognize these rising stars, highlight their career progression and raise awareness of the opportunities that exist in a hospitality environment.
“We felt it was important to relaunch and rename our award categories and introduce a new category to truly reflect the evolution of the industry. Over the coming year we will be running a competition for staff from front desk and housekeeping and explore how we can highlight best practices and recognize great people in our businesses.
“Our first Key Awards for Rising Stars will take place at our annual Hospitality Exchange 2022 event in October. Successful entrants will be recognized at a special luncheon hosted by fellow contestant Pamela Ballantine.
“We encourage members to nominate a star within their company who has demonstrated exceptional talent in their discipline of choice and has made a significant contribution to their company. There are many deserving candidates and we look forward to recognizing the positive contributions each makes to the sector. »
