Perry Lane Hotel, Savannah, GA || Southern hospitality at its best!

On a road trip last month from Florida to North Carolina, I decided to split the trip up by stopping in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. Many friends have told me how Perry Lane Hotel (a Marriott Luxury Hotel Collection Property) is, so I decided to splurge and go check it out for myself finally.

On previous pit stops in Savannah over the past two years, I had stayed at the Alida and the Hotel Kimpton Brice. The Alida was a total disappointment – long story short, the hotel had terrible service and an overall lackluster guest experience for the $300+ a night.

I really enjoyed the Kimpton Brice Hotel and love being able to stay there at no extra cost while on a road trip with my pup. There really is no better brand of hotel to stay at than a Kimpton when traveling with your fur baby!

That said, I’m so glad I decided to stay at Perry Lane this trip, as it was without a doubt the best hotel I have stayed in in the United States in terms of service, hospitality, and guest experience!

How I booked the Perry Lane

I used my American Express Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card to book the stay and earned 6X points for the standard Deluxe King room at $300 a night.

Since getting Titanium Elite status with Marrriott Bonvoy, I’ve also had suite night rewards that burned a hole in my pocket. I used them for the stay and was informed by email a few days before check-in that my upgrade had been confirmed to a 1 bedroom king suite.

Perry Lane: Bedroom

The suite was welcoming, spacious and elegant. At over 700 square feet, the suite included a separate living area with a comfortable sofa and dining table, as well as a large flat-screen TV. It also featured sumptuous Fret Italian bed and bath linens, slippers and bathrobes, in addition to luxurious, full-size Molton Brown bath products.

I loved the leather-wrapped walls in the living room and in the bedroom, and the marble bathroom with a double vanity and large walk-in shower made us feel spoiled and pampered throughout the stay.

On the Perry Lane website, they proclaim that they are “redefining the traditional Savannah experience by curating a one-of-a-kind experience for your southern getaway,” and my goodness does it deliver on that promise!

Included in the price of $32 a night for her Destination Amenity Fee are:

  • Unlimited sparkling wine served in the lobby
  • BMW car service to any location within 2 miles of hotel
    • TIP: Be sure to request a ride with Pops! While all of the Perry Lane drivers were absolutely wonderful, we loved riding with Pops, and meeting and getting to know him was one of the highlights of our stay!
  • Complimentary mimosas served at the rooftop pool
  • Cocktail of the day offered served at Rebel hotel bar
  • Bike rental
  • Shoe shine service
  • Free coffee and sweets served in rooms and in the lobby
  • Free vintage card games and board games available in the library
  • Free use of electric vehicle charging stations

On top of that, the Perry Lane is located in downtown Savannah, so all the restaurants, bars, shops, etc. are close to the hotel. Although it’s not located on Savannah’s main waterfront thoroughfare, I didn’t mind staying a little out of that area, and I actually preferred to be away from all the tourist fuss.

There are so many fun things to do in Savannah, but I have to say this hotel was so spectacular we didn’t really leave. The only time we left the hotel was to go out for dinner, as Savannah is such a great foodie town. My favorite experiences at Perry Lane are:

  • Afternoon in the library piano bar listening to the wonderfully talented musicians, while enjoying a complimentary sparkling wine from the lobby
  • The delicious popsicle cocktails and also the delicious Frose served at the rooftop pool Peregrine – the nachos are also very good if you are a little hungry
  • Play skee ball and other vintage 80s video games in the evening at the Wayward bar, while enjoying the free cocktail of the day
  • Take a quick spin around Savannah with Pops on the way to lunch or dinner in luxurious chauffeur-driven BMWs that are free for hotel guests to use at their leisure

Also, I have to thank the amazing hotel staff at the Perry Lane. Everyone who worked at the hotel was incredibly professional, extremely pleasant and kind, and went above and beyond to make our stay one of our all-time favorite hotel experiences.

Kudos to the hotel management team and staff for arranging such a fabulous experience for their guests!

Perry Lane: final verdict

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel in Savannah – or the southeastern United States for that matter – then check out the Perry Lane! The service at this hotel is unmatched in the US and we had an absolutely fabulous stay. Plus, being able to enjoy all of the Bonvoy Titanium Elite benefits makes this hotel the perfect choice for those with top-tier Marriott status!
