The gastronomic and fun festival is “a curated culinary showcase that pairs the rich seafood of South Florida with the region’s most notable chefs and restaurants,with special programming including a new $10,000 Top Chef grand prize, live music and more. It all starts on Wednesday, October 19 and culminates with the signing South Beach Seafood Festival along South Beach’s scenic Lumus Park on Saturday, October 22.
Watch for my next post with more details, but in the meantime, here’s a quick rundown of the weekend’s festivities:
DAY 1: AN EVENING AT JOE’S STONE CRAB (Wednesday, Oct. 19): This culinary adventure exclusive to the legendary Joe’s Stone Crab consists of a five-course meal featuring the cuisine of Executive Chef André Bienvenu paired with fine wines selected by master sommeliers. Tickets for this very exclusive event are available for $500 and usually sell out quickly.

DAY 2: CRABS, SLABS & CABS (Thursday October 20): This one-of-a-kind dining experience includes an exquisite 5-course formal dinner in a tropical oasis for the ultimate in extraordinary seafood. GOYA Executive Chef Fernando Desa will be joined by some of Miami’s top chefs, including renowned restaurateur José Mendín; Fiola’ Danny Ganem; Sean Brasel of Meat Market; chef Javier Carballo of the Surfcomber Social Club; and chef/owner Giorgio Rapicavoli of Luca Osteria. Limited to 150 guests, attendees will explore flavors from around the world as each chef presents a different course featuring their own take on the delicious surf and turf pairing.

DAY 3: – CHEF SHOWDOWN (Friday October 21): Join Miami’s top chefs for an evening of competitive culinary cooking where attendees will serve as judges as they indulge in endless seafood dishes and refreshing cocktails. Enjoy the live action of an “Iron Chef” style showdown, where 16 of the region’s top chefs will face off in eight unique seafood showdowns – and you go judge! Each battle will have a lucky champion. And for the first time this year, an MVP will be selected as the grand prize winner and take home the grand prize of $10,000!

DAY 4: – SOUTH BEACH SEAFOOD FESTIVAL (Saturday October 22): The famous main event spans four blocks on the sands of South Beach and will feature curated offerings from dozens of the best seafood restaurants in Miami and beyond. In addition to an assortment of pop-up and free restaurants bars open all day for all, plus live music stages, interactive sponsor experiences, beach games and more. Attendees will enjoy shareable portions of stone crabs, lobster waffle cones, steak and lobster skewers, ceviche, oysters, shrimp tacos, and shrimp cocktails, among others. VIP ticket holders will have access to a private, one-and-a-half-block village with exclusive experiences, free private tastings and more for the ultimate VIP guest.

The South Beach Seafood Festival takes place Saturday, October 22 at Lummus Park (14th & Ocean Drive, on the beach) in Miami Beach from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (9:00 p.m. for VIP ticket holders). Ticket prices for the festival are just $50 for general admission, $150 for VIPs, or a full weekend pass for $250, with additional options for a hotel package.
